Panama City, Panama and Benešov, Czech Republic– 7 August, 2013. A cascade of three 10 MW hydroelectric power plants (the “Piedra River Cascade”) developed by Hidrotenencias, S.A. (“Hidrotenencias”) was completed with the official commissioning of the Las Perlas Sur hydroelectric power plant in June 2013. The June commissioning concludes eight years of cooperation between Mavel and Hidrotenencias for the development of the Piedra River Cascade that began with a discussion and a yoyo at HydroVision 2004 in Montreal, Canada.

Boston, MA – 14 February 2012.  Mavel Americas, Inc. announced that it has signed a contract to provide the equipment for a minimum flow unit at Eagle Creek Hydropower LLC’s Rio Hydroelectric Power Plant (Rio HPP). The power plant is located at the end of the Rio Reservoir on the Mongaup River in the town of Lumberland, Sullivan County, NY.

Boston, MA – 25 March 2011.  Mavel Americas, Inc. (“Mavel”) announced the award of contracts for the supply of equipment for two new hydroelectric power projects on the Piedra River in the Chiriqui Province of Panama. These projects, about 500 kilometers west of Panama City, are designed as run-of-river facilities. Each new power plant will utilize two Mavel horizontal Francis turbines type FSH1050 and have total installed power of 10 MW.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 11 January 2010.  Mavel, a.s. announced that the hydroelectric powerplant Bugoye (“Bugoye HPP”) was commissioned on October 7, 2009 by the President of the Republic of Uganda H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The new 13 MW power plant is located on the Mubuku River at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains in the Kasese district of western Uganda.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 20 January 2009.   Mavel, a.s. announced the commissioning of the new 10 MW Concepcion hydroelectric power plant ( “Concepcion HPP” ) on the Piedra River in the Chiriqui Province of Panama.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 13 August 2008.  Mavel, a.s. announced that it has signed a contract with TRONDER POWER LIMITED from Uganda to supply turbines and related technology for the new Bugoye hydroelectric power plant in Uganda.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 27 March 2008.  Mavel, a.s. announced that it was awarded a contract for turbines and related technology for the Kayalik hydroelectric power plant (“Kayalik HPP”) located in the Erzurum Region of Turkey. The contract was signed in June 2007 with the project owner Akua Enerji Uretim A.S.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 20 January 2007.  Mavel, a.s. announced successfully commissioned the refurbished Podluzany hydroelectric power plant in the Czech Republic on December 15, 2006.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 20 June 2006.  Mavel, a.s. announced that it successfully commissioned the second horizontal turbine at the Lesichovo hydro power plant in Bulgaria. Mavel had been contracted last year to repair the first unit after extensive flooding in August 2005 and to deliver the second turbine for the planned 3.2 MW plan.

Benešov, Czech Republic – 20 April 2006.  Mavel, a.s. announced that one its MT5 Turbines was installed adjacent to the historic Togetsukyo Bridge in Kyoto, Japan. The installation site has head of 1.34 meters and flow of 0.53 cubic meters per second. The installed power is 4.3 kW, enough to illuminate the historic bridge and the nearby hillside.
