Panama City, Panama and Benešov, Czech Republic– 7 August, 2013. A cascade of three 10 MW hydroelectric power plants (the “Piedra River Cascade”) developed by Hidrotenencias, S.A. (“Hidrotenencias”) was completed with the official commissioning of the Las Perlas Sur hydroelectric power plant in June 2013. The June commissioning concludes eight years of cooperation between Mavel and Hidrotenencias for the development of the Piedra River Cascade that began with a discussion and a yoyo at HydroVision 2004 in Montreal, Canada.

(“Mavel”) and the Marseilles Land & Water Power Company (“MLWC”) announced the signing of a contract under which Mavel will provide four Pit Kaplan turbines for the new Marseilles Hydroelectric Power Plant (“Marseilles HPP”) on the Illinois River, in Marseilles, Illinois. MLWC received a license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”) in December 2011. The contract was signed in January 2012.

Mavel Americas, Inc. announced that it has signed a contract to provide the equipment for a minimum flow unit at Eagle Creek Hydropower LLC’s Rio Hydroelectric Power Plant (Rio HPP). The power plant is located at the end of the Rio Reservoir on the Mongaup River in the town of Lumberland, Sullivan County, NY.
Boston, MA – 25 March 2011. Mavel Americas, Inc. (“Mavel”) announced the award of contracts for the supply of equipment for two new hydroelectric power projects on the Piedra River in the Chiriqui Province of Panama. These projects, about 500 kilometers west of Panama City, are designed as run-of-river facilities. Each new power plant will utilize two Mavel horizontal Francis turbines type FSH1050 and have total installed power of 10 MW.

(“Mavel”) announced the signing of supply contracts for turbines and related technology for the proposed Brandon Road and Dresden Island Hydroelectric Power projects (“Brandon Road HPP” and “Dresden Island HPP”). Both projects are located on Army Corp of Engineering Lock and Dam sites near Jolliet, Illinois and will utilize Mavel’s low head Kaplan technology.
