Mavel Signs Two Contracts in Finland
Benešov, Czech Republic – 1 November 2007. Mavel, a.s. announced that it signed on 18 October two contracts with Vaasa Engineering for the supply of turbines and related equipment for the Alasorsakoski and Ylasorsakoski hydro-electric power plants in Finland. Both projects are rehabilitations of existing hydro power plants and are owned by the company Savon Voima Myyanti Oy.
Mavel will supply a vertical Kaplan turbine with runner diameter of 1290 mm and five blades, generator and hydraulic unit for the Alaskorsakoski rehabilitation project. The site has head of 10.4 meters, flow of 8 cubic meters per second and will have installed power of 730 kW.
For the Ylasorsakoski rehabilitation project, Mavel will also supply a vertical Kaplan turbine, with 1290 mm runner diameter and four blades, generator and hydraulic unit. This site has head of 7.55 meters and flow of 8 cubic meters per second and will have installed power of 540 kW.
Both projects are expected to be commissioned by the end of October 2007.
